Pete Levin
Pete Levin, born on December 20, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American
jazz keyboardist, composer, and record producer whose career began with the
French horn before transitioning to the Hammond organ during his army service.
His first major engagement came with the Gil Evans Orchestra in the early 1970s,
where he contributed synthesizer textures and later full‑time keyboard work.
This partnership lasted fifteen years. In 1990, he released Party in the
Basement on Gramavision, followed by A Solitary Man (1991) and Harmony (1998).
