Pascel Emmanuel "Pat" LaBarbera, born on April 7, 1944 in Mt. Morris, New York,
is a Canadian jazz saxophonist. He began playing music at age six with his
brothers and studied at Berklee College of Music from 1964 to 1967. LaBarbera's
breakthrough came when he joined Buddy Rich's Big Band in 1967, staying until
1973. He also collaborated with Louie Bellson and Woody Herman during this
period. In 1974, LaBarbera moved to Toronto and began teaching at Humber
