Omega, a Hungarian rock band, was formed in Budapest in 1962. Their breakthrough
came with the release of "Paint it Black", leading to an England tour and a
record deal with Decca Records under the name Omega Red Star. Political
circumstances forced them back to Hungary. Omega's first LP, Trombitás Frédi és
a rettenetes emberek, was released in 1968 by Hungaroton and sold over One
Hundred Thousand copies. Their subsequent album, 10000 Lépés (1969), featured
the title track "Gyöngyhajú lány", which became a notable song covered by
