Nora Bumbiere was a Latvian singer born on 13 March 1947 in Jelgava. She
achieved professional recognition in the 1960s and performed as a soloist with
the Rigaer Estradenorchester. In the 1970s, she joined the group Modo,
established by composer Raimonds Pauls, and frequently performed in a duet with
Viktors Lapčenoks. Bumbiere won the "Mikrofons" audience award for the track
“Teic, kur zeme tā” (1971), followed by awards for “Tava balss” (1976) and “Par
pēdējo lapu” (1977). During the 1980s, she was a member of the group Tip Top.
Bumbiere died on 12 January 1994.
