Necrophobic is a Scandinavian death metal band formed in 1989 in Stockholm,
Sweden. Founding members include guitarist David "Blackmoon" Parland, who would
later play in Dark Funeral and Infernal, and drummer Joakim Sterner. After
releasing an EP, The Fall, in 1992, the band made its full-length debut with
1993's The Nocturnal Silence. Both recordings introduced a sound that moved
between death, black, and heavy metal, with Necrophobic looking to bands like
Bathory for influence. Follow-up records included Darkside (1997), Bloodhymns
(2002), Death to All (2009) and Womb of Lilith...
