Nayobe Catalina Gomez, known professionally as Nayobe, was born on December 18,
1967 in Brooklyn, New York. She is an American singer of Afro-Cuban heritage who
gained prominence in the electronic music scene. In early 1985, Nayobe became a
pioneer in freestyle dance-pop music with her debut single "Please Don't Go",
produced by Andy Panda, which was often cited as one of the first songs in the
