Nadau, a French musical group playing Occitan music, was formed in 1973 in
Labastide‑Cézéracq, near Pau. Originally called Los de Nadau until 1991, their
first album Monsur lo regent was released in 1975. Their early albums —
including La venta a las enchèras (1976) and L’immortèla (1978) — explore themes
of cultural heritage and love, with lyrics mostly in Béarnais (a variety of
Gascon). Nadau achieved significant milestones, performing at the Paris Olympia
