Mura Masa
From Guernsey in the British Channel Islands, Alex Crossan took up playing
guitar, bass and singing at a young age. When he was 16 he started making
electronic music after discovering the music sequencer software Ableton Live and
began composing his own tunes. Partly inspired by Scottish DJ/producer Hudson
Mohawke, he adopted a Japanese name and started working on a new dance genre
known as 'trap music' and, after streaming his music on the Internet, he was
discovered by Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, with the result that his track 'Lotus Eater'
subsequently received a lot of airplay.
