Miriam Klein, born on March 27, 1937, in Basel, Switzerland, is a Swiss jazz
singer. She gained initial recognition in the 1950s performing in Paris with
musicians like Pierre Michelot and Don Byas. After studying in Vienna, she
returned to Switzerland and began singing with her husband Oscar Klein's
ensembles starting in 1963. Her career took off in the 1960s and 1970s,
culminating in international fame. In 1973, she released Lady Like, an album
dedicated to Billie Holiday, which featured collaborations with Roy Eldridge,
