Michael Abarico Hanopol, known as Mike Hanopol, and born on April 10, 1946, in
the Philippines, is a rock singer and guitarist. He began his career as a bass
guitarist for the Juan de la Cruz Band and became a pioneer of rock music in the
Philippines during the 1970s. His early albums include Buhay Musikero (1977) and
Awiting Pilipino (1977). Hanopol produced 20 albums, three of which received
Gold prize awards and another three won the Aliw Awards. His song "Laki sa Layaw
