Michel Godard is a French jazz tubist and serpent player born on October 3,
1960, in Héricourt, France. He studied classical trumpet at the conservatories
of Besançon and Paris before his interest in jazz began after discovering Bush
Baby, an album featuring Bob Stewart on tuba. His career advanced when he joined
the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France in 1988, and he later performed with
the Orchestre National de Jazz under Claude Barthélémy from 1989 to 1991. His
collaborations included performing with Marc Steckar in the ensemble Steckar
