Mazz was an American Tejano band formed by Joe López and Jimmy González in 1978
in Brownsville, Texas. Both born in 1950, they started their musical journey
together before forming Mazz. The group gained recognition for blending cumbia
and rancheras, signing their first major recording contract with EMI Latin in
1989. Their breakthrough came with the single “Laura Ya No Vive Aquí” which
topped Billboard's Latin music charts in 1987. Mazz released several albums
including Una Noche Juntos: Live (1991) and Lo Haré Por Ti (1992), earning
