Maya Buskila
Maya Bouskilla, born November 9, 1977, in Netanya, Israel, is an Israeli pop and
soul singer of Moroccan-Jewish descent. Discovered singing in a karaoke bar, she
signed with Helicon Records and released her debut album, Sipur Machur, in 2004,
which sold 20,000 copies in three weeks. In February 2005, she received the
Female Artist of the Year and Breaking Artist of the Year awards from the
Israeli Annual Hebrew Song Chart, and was named Singer of the Year by Channel
