Max Bygraves
Max Bygraves (born Walter William Bygraves on 16 October 1922 in London,
Rotherhithe) was a British pop singer, comedian and actor whose career began in
the early 1940s after training in theatre. He entered the music scene with early
singles that led to his first album Songs for the Young in Heart in 1959,
followed by Nursery Rhymes for Grown‑Ups (1961), Strollin' with Max Bygraves
(1967) and Max (1968); the 1974 holiday collection SingalongamaXmas and the 1978
compilation 20 All Time Favourites solidified his presence on the UK charts.
