Matthias Anton

Matthias Anton was born on May 27, 1979, in Filderstadt, Germany, and is a German saxophonist and university professor. He began playing harmonica and piano at seven, switching to saxophone at twelve under his father and grandfather’s influence. He received the Outstanding Musician Award in 1997, the Yamaha Saxophone Contest finalist title in 2007, and the first prize at the Jazzfestival Sibiu Contest in 2008.
