Mark Klingman, known as Moogy Klingman, was born on September 7, 1950, in Great
Neck, New York. He started his music career playing keyboard and forming bands.
In 1968, Klingman met Todd Rundgren outside Cafe Au Go Go in Greenwich Village,
leading to the formation of the Secret Sound recording studio. He was the
original keyboardist for Todd Rundgren's Utopia and played on ten of Rundgren's
solo albums. Klingman released two solo albums, Moogy (1972) and Moogy II
