Mario Luis is a cumbia singer hailing from Argentina who served as lead singer for Aclamado Amistad before striking out on his own. Luis was born in San Genaro, Santa Fe, Argentina in 1965 and began his music career in 1983 when he took up the role of singer in the cumbia band Aclamado Amistad. He sang with the group for 23 years, racking up just short of 20 albums in the process, before leaving in 2006 to pursue a solo career.
