Marcia Elaine Hines, born on July 20, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an
American-born Australian singer. Raised by her mother after her father's death,
Hines began singing at age nine in her church choir and performed with local
groups during her teens. At 16, she moved to Australia to star in the stage
musical Hair, marking her breakthrough into the music industry. In 1974, Hines
joined the Daly-Wilson Big Band and released her first solo single "Fire and
