Marcelo Falcão Custódio, born on May 31, 1973, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, became
known as the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of O Rappa. He joined the
group at its formation in 1993, helping shape a sound that mixed reggae and rock
with funk, samba, hip-hop, and electronic elements. After the self-titled O
Rappa in 1994, the band broke through with Rappa Mundi in 1996, home to
“Pescador de Ilusões” and its version of “Hey Joe.” Lado B Lado A followed in
