Malevolent Creation, an American death metal band, was formed in Buffalo, New York in 1987 by Phil Fasciana and Jim Nickles on guitars, Bret Hoffmann on vocals, Jason Blachowicz on bass, and Dennis Kubas on drums. The band moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida shortly after forming and released their debut demo tape, which led to a deal with Roadrunner Records. Their first album, The Ten Commandments, was released in 1991 and became a landmark in the death metal underground.
