Luis Julio Toro, born in Caracas, is a Venezuelan flutist and music educator. He
studied flute with Glen Egner and joined the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud
Venezolana Simón Bolívar in 1979. In 1980, he trained at the Royal College of
Music in London under Christopher Hyde Smith, earning a Performer's Diploma and
the Royal College of Music Associate Certificate. He also studied classical
Indian flute at the Bhavan Institute of Indian Arts in London and Baroque flute
