Born David Brown in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 25, 1985, Lucky Daye
developed his melodic skills as a child despite a strict family rule that banned
a great deal of music because of their religion. Upon abandoning those
teachings, Brown quickly absorbed the R&B masters. As a teenager, he competed on
the fourth season of American Idol (2005) and although he did not make the Top
10, he quickly established himself as a songwriter whose work would be recorded
