Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, a Colombian musical group founded in the mid-1940s
in San Jacinto, Bolívar, is known for preserving traditional music of gaitas and
drums. The group was initially led by Miguel Antonio Hernández Vásquez, known as
"Toño" Fernández. By the 1950s, they began touring Colombia with support from
Dr. Manuel Zapata Olivella and his sister Delia, performing internationally. In
1982, Joaquín Nicolás Hernández Pacheco took over as director following Toño
