An alternative rock band inspired by folk music and The Beatles' classic pop, Los Bunkers formed in 1999 in Concepción, Chile. The group's founding lineup consisted of two pairs of brothers — Álvaro and Gonzalo López, as well as Francisco and Mauricio Durán — and original drummer Manuel Lagos, who was replaced by Mauricio Basualto in 2001. After introducing their sound with singles like "El Detenido" and "Yo Sembré Mis Penas de Amor en tu Jardín," the band released its debut album, Los Bunkers, in 2001.
