Karl‑Gerhard Lundkvist, born 17 May 1934 in Tillberga, Sweden, was a singer and
producer known as Little Gerhard who helped pioneer rock music in Sweden during
the 1950s and 1960s. After learning accordion and guitar at the Trocadero
nightclub in Amsterdam, he began performing in Stockholm’s Nalen club and
adopted the stage name Little Gerhard in 1957 when he signed with the Karusell
label. His first single, "What You’ve Done to Me", launched in 1958 and achieved
commercial success, followed by a cover of "Buona Sera" that became his biggest
