Pianist, songwriter, and producer Lesette Wilson was born in Queens, New York.
While she had recorded a few Latin/salsa albums in the late 1970s, she came to
prominence as the keyboardist on trumpeter Tom Browne’s jazz fusion album Love
Approach (1980), which featured the hit “Funkin’ for Jamaica.” The release of
the album raised her commercial profile and she was offered a solo recording
