Les Croquants is a French folk duo formed in 1999 by Danito and M. Kif. Emerging
from the alternative music scene, they specialized in festive covers of French
chanson standards. They later established the group La Varda to perform original
compositions. The debut live album, Ça sent la bière (2001), featured covers of
artists including Serge Gainsbourg and Jacques Brel. In 2004, they released the
studio album Reprisé (2004), which included a collaboration with Olivia Ruiz on
the song “Petit homme qui vivait d'espoir” (2004). Les Croquants also
contributed to Ruiz's album La Femm...
