Kyoto Jazz Massive, a Japanese musical project specializing in crossover jazz
and electronic styles, was formed in 1992 by brothers Shuya Okino and Yoshihiro
Okino. They began their music career as DJs and remixers in Kyoto during the
late 1980s and early 1990s. Their breakthrough came around 2001 when British
Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson popularized their work. In 1994, they released their
debut self-titled album Kyoto Jazz Massive. Their subsequent releases include
