Samuel William Christopher Watson, known as Krizz Kaliko, was born on March 7, 1974, in Kansas City, Missouri. He began his musical career in the late 1990s, collaborating with local producer IcyRoc Kraven, and met Tech N9ne through this collaboration. Kaliko's suggestion for a better hook on Tech N9ne's song "Who You Came to See" led to his signing with Strange Music. His debut album, Vitiligo, was released in 2008, charting at number 19 on the Top Independent Albums and number 167 on the Billboard 200.
