Kris Drever, born on October 31, 1978 in Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, United Kingdom, is a Scottish folk musician and songwriter. He learned to play guitar and participated in local folk festivals before moving to Edinburgh at age 17. In late 2000, he started playing with Nuala Kennedy and Anna-Wendy Stevenson as Fine Friday, touring extensively and releasing two albums. In 2005, Kris Drever formed the folk trio Lau with Aidan O'Rourke and Martin Green, releasing five studio albums and conducting numerous tours worldwide.
