Kostars was an American alternative/pop rock side project formed in 1995 as a
side project by Vivian Trimble and Jill Cunniff during their tour with Luscious
Jackson. The duo, needing additional creative outlets, released their debut
album Klassics With a "K" in 1996 under the Kostars moniker. Recorded at Kate
Schellenbach's home studio, the album featured contributions from Gabrielle
Glaser and Gene and Dean Ween of Ween, with engineering by Josephine Wiggs of
The Breeders. The band released one single, "Hey Cowboy", both through Grand
