Junko Utada, known professionally as Keiko Fuji, was born on July 5, 1951, in
Iwate Prefecture, Japan. She is a singer and actress, raised in a family of
traditional Japanese musicians; her father was a rōkyoku singer, and her mother
played the shamisen. Fuji's early exposure to music led her to accompany her
parents on tours and sing with them from a young age. Fuji's breakthrough came
in 1970 with the release of "Keiko no Yume wa Yoru Hiraku", which won the Mass
