Just Music was a German avant-garde music ensemble founded in 1967 at the
Centrum Freier Kunst in Frankfurt/Main by multi-instrumentalist Alfred Harth.
The group evolved from written scores to free improvisation, incorporating
elements of jazz and classical music. In 1969, they recorded their album Just
Music for Manfred Eicher’s label ECM. They performed extensively across Europe,
collaborating with notable musicians such as Tony Scott, Peter Brötzmann,
Anthony Braxton, and members of the Association for the Advancement of Creative
