José Antonio Molina Miniño, also known as José Molina, was born on June 4, 1960,
in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and is a Dominican musician, pianist,
composer, arranger, and orchestra conductor. He studied piano at the National
Conservatory of Music with Vicente Grisolía before moving to New York at age 20,
where he earned a bachelor’s and master’s at Manhattan School of Music and
studied composition and orchestral direction at Juilliard. He debuted as a
pianist with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic in 1984,
