Johnny Frigo, born John Virgil Frigo on December 27, 1916, in Chicago, was an American jazz violinist, songwriter and bassist. He began studying violin at age seven and later played double bass in dance orchestras during high school. In the 1940s, Frigo started his professional music career as a violinist before transitioning to bass. He performed with Chico Marx's orchestra and toured with Jimmy Dorsey's band from 1945 to 1947.
