Juan Antonio Albino Ortiz, known professionally as Johnny Albino, was a bolero
singer born on December 19, 1919 in Yauco, Puerto Rico. He began singing during
his youth but gained his first organized performance opportunity while serving
in the United States Army during World War II. In 1946, he joined the Trio San
Juan. Johnny Albino left the Trio San Juan and joined Los Panchos in 1958,
replacing Julito Rodríguez as the leading voice. With Los Panchos, Albino toured
