John Hart, born on June 15, 1961, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, is an American jazz
guitarist. He started playing guitar at 12 and graduated from the University of
Miami in 1983. After moving to New York City, Hart collaborated with musicians
like Terumasa Hino and Jack McDuff, touring with the latter. His breakthrough
came with One Down on Blue Note Records in 1988. Further recognition followed
with albums High Drama (1996) and Bridges (1997), released on Concord Records.
He also worked as a music educator at the Frost School of Music at the
University of Miami.
