Jóhann Ásmundsson, born on March 30, 1961, in Iceland, is an Icelandic bassist
known for his contributions to jazz/instrumental-funk-fusion. He began his
musical journey as a member of the instrumental funk-fusion band Mezzoforte in
1977. With Mezzoforte, Ásmundsson recorded over a dozen albums and participated
in worldwide tours. Notably, he served as the lead sound engineer for their
album Volcanic, released in November 2010. In addition to his work with
