Jiri Malát

Jiří Malát is a Czech conductor born on July 1, 1953, in Prague. He began his
career studying viola at the Prague Conservatory before studying conducting
under Václav Neumann at the Academy of Music in Prague. Malát served as a
conductor for the National Theatre in Prague beginning in 1988 and as the
principal conductor of the Plzeň Radio Orchestra from 1989 to 1992. Malát served
as the chief conductor of the Kurpfälzische Kammerorchester from 1992 to 2002.
His most notable recording featured works by composers of the Mannheim School
