Author, composer and performer, Djibril Ba, aka Jeeba (or Jeeba Abdn) was born
in Thiès, Senegal, in the early 1990s, into a Peule family. Jeeba listened to a
lot of Senegalese classics as a child, notably Youssou N' Dour. He found his
calling at an early age, singing at Senegalese end-of-year balls before becoming
a singer in the Galsen rap group (rap that breaks away from American hip-hop to
assert Senegalese identity). It was after his studies, in 2017, that Jeeba
launched his solo project and immediately set up his own label, Abadan Daiman.
