Javier Isaac Medina Núñez, known professionally as Javier Bátiz, was born on
June 3, 1944, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. As a teenager, he formed the
band Los TJ's, drawing influences from blues and R&B artists. In 1963, Bátiz
moved to Mexico City and began his solo career. Bátiz released his debut album,
Coming Home, in 1971, followed by notable albums like Esta Vez (1983) and Me
Gusta El Rock (1995). In the early 2000s, he collaborated with Canned Heat on
their album Boogie 2000, contributing to the track "The world of make believe",
