James Falzone, born 1 September 1971, is an American clarinetist and composer
whose career began under the tutelage of his uncle, tenor saxophonist and film
composer James DiPasquale, before advancing with saxophonist Rich Corpolongo and
later at Northern Illinois University with Melvin Warner. He completed a
master’s at the New England Conservatory, studying under Ran Blake and Hankus
Netsky, and returned to Chicago to found Allos Musica. In 2011, the Down Beat
