Jake Armerding
Jake Armerding is an American musician from Boston, Massachusetts. He began his
music career in 1990 by playing with Northern Lights, a band that included his
father Taylor Armerding. Jake joined the group full-time in 1992 and remained
until 1999 when he left to pursue a solo career. During this period, he released
Caged Bird (1999) as his debut album. In addition to his solo work, Armerding
became part of The Fretful Porcupine duo with saxophonist Kevin Gosa and the
bluegrass band Barnstar!. He also contributed to various musical projects. Jake
