Jack Sperling, born August 17, 1922, was an American jazz drummer. He began his
career playing with trumpeter Bunny Berigan in 1941. After World War II, he
joined the Glenn Miller band, gaining attention for his performance on "St.
Louis Blues" in 1948. Sperling then played with Les Brown and His Band of
Renown. In 1953, he joined Dave Pell’s octet and recorded Plays Irving Berlin.
From 1954 to 1957, he was a member of Bob Crosby's Bobcats. He also worked with
Charlie Barnet, Page Cavanaugh, Pete Fountain, and Benny Goodman. Sperling
