Ivar Medaas, born on April 9, 1938, in Alversund, was a Norwegian folksinger and
fiddle player. His early career began with the release of singles such as
"Hestehandlarar" (1961) and "En Glad, God Cowboy / Brunkebekken" (1962). In
1964, Medaas released his debut album Holiday in Norway with Vestlandsduoe.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, he continued to release albums including
Trubaduren Kommer (1965), Medaas I 4 Akter (1968), and Vårteikn (1976). His song
"Dar Kjem Dampen", written by the deaf priest Ragnvald Hammer, became one of his
