ささきいさお
(Isao Sasaki)
Isao Sasaki (佐々木 功), born in 1942 in Tokyo, is a Japanese singer, actor and
voice actor who debuted as a rockabilly singer in 1960 with the single "本命はお前だ"
(known in English as "Stuck on You"), and in the same year was cast as the lead
in Nagisa Ōshima's film The Sun's Burial. From the early 1970s he became the
voice behind a generation of anime and tokusatsu themes, notably the openings of
Space Battleship Yamato (1974), Getter Robo (1974), and Grendizer (1975). His
recordings include the album 英語盤 ささきいさお アニメヒットをうたう in 1978 and DAY DREAM in
1982, as well as the later compilation...
