Indio Solari, born Carlos Alberto Solari on January 17, 1949 in Paraná, Entre
Ríos, Argentina, was an Argentine singer, songwriter and poet best known as the
voice and lyricist of Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota. Raised in La
Plata, he moved through visual art, countercultural circles and underground
performance before forming Los Redondos in the mid-1970s with guitarist Skay
Beilinson. The band developed outside the major-label system and became one of
Argentina’s defining rock groups through albums such as Gulp! in 1985, Oktubre
