Shyamalal Babu Rai (performing as Indeevar; January 1, 1924 – February 27, 1997) was an Indian Hindi film lyricist from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. He moved to Mumbai to pursue a professional career, attaining initial success with the film Malhar (1951), where he wrote the song “Bade Armano Se Rakkha Hai Balam Teri Kasam”, set to music by Roshan. Throughout a career spanning four decades, Indeevar authored over 1,000 songs for more than 300 films.
