Ian Campbell Thomas, born on July 23, 1950, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, is a
Canadian singer-songwriter. He started his musical career as part of the folk
music group Tranquility Base before going solo. His breakthrough came with
"Painted Ladies" in 1973, which became his most memorable hit and his only U.S.
Top 40 entry. Before this success, Thomas worked as a producer at the CBC and
