Henry Thomas, born in 1874 in Big Sandy, Texas, was an American country blues
singer, songster. He left home as a teenager, traveling the Texas railroads as a
hobo and performing for workers and locals before recording. In 1927, he signed
with Vocalion Records and issued his first single, "John Henry /
Cottonfield Blues". Over the next two years, he recorded 24 tracks, including
"Don't Ease Me In" (1928) and "Bull‑Doze Blues" (1928). His tracks like
"Fishing Blues" were covered by Bob Dylan and The Lovin' Spoonful, cementing his
influence on folk‑rock and blues revival movements....
